DescriptionMahogany, satinwood veneer on lid and drawers. Flat top, two glazed doors, paneled in rectangle and pointed arches. Shelves, drawers, and pigeonholes inside. Lower part has slightly slanted lid above two long drawers and cupboard with two doors flanked by deep drawers. Dark bands of inlay in paneled design. French bracket feet. Shaped skirt. Ivory key-holes and centers of turned pulls.
ProvenancePossibly owned originally by a William Shaw; bought in Dover, New Hampshire, by Hyman Kaufman about 1916 and sold to Charles Hitchcock Tyler; included in the 1932 Tyler bequest to the Museum.
