ProvenanceInherited by donor in December 1986 from Dr. and Mrs. Adolphus Sylvester Rumreich. Gift to MFA January 24, 2007. Dr. A. S. Rumreich was the physician at the United States Embassy in Moscow, Russia from 1935 to 1938. While there, he and his wife, Edna Irene Hall Rumreich, purchased various antiques at a time when church and imperial treasures were being sold by Soviet authorities.
