DescriptionInfant's embroidered white cotton christening dress, worn first by James Edward Poole Stevens, and said to have been made by Miranda Stevens (1804-1882) of Claremont, N. H. Short waist; short sleeves edged with lace; long skirt with fullness at the back tied with drawstrings; bands of eyelet embroidrery bordered with braided briding outline skirt front panel, form yoke of waist and border bottom of skirt. Yellowed, stained.
