DescriptionDiptych (two outer sheets of triptych): 21.7112 (left), 21.7113 (right)
The center sheet (in TNM) shows Yamashita Kinsaku holding a fan and a child. However, Kinsaku was playing in Kyoto at the time of this play, so there is a problem with the identification. He returned to Edo in 1769. This scene must be before 1772.11, when Komazô II became Matsumoto Kôshirô IV and turned over his previous name to Komazô III (who has a longer face and a bigger nose).
Play: Taiheiki Shizunome Furisode
Theater: Nakamura
