DescriptionThis slipped redware globular jar has high-set shoulders and a base that comes to a rounded point. A straight neck terminates in a straight, unworked rim. The upper shoulder and lower neck areas carry incised line decoration forming vertical and horizontal rows of adjoining diamond shapes. Fabric is silt with straw temper; burn markings.
ProvenanceFrom Dakka (ASN 101/40/5). 1910. Excavated by Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition for the Archaeological Survey of Nubia; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the Egyptian government.
