DescriptionWhole cloth quilt of yellow silk satin, medallion quilted in center with quarter medallions in the corners, ground quilted with scallops; hand-quilted with about 9 stitches per inch, ivory silk lutestring backing, wool fleece batting. According to donor, quilt probably belonged to Mary Cooper, born in Boston in 1744. There are about 6-9 quilting stitches per inch.
