Some of the earliest pieces by Sara Galner have the pottery's early surface finish: a matte, gritty texture. On this pottery, the black outlines and glazes are thin, which allowed for greater detail and a subtle mottled appearance to the colors. Some pieces with intricate designs, such as these bowls ringed by primroses, benefit from these characteristics.

DescriptionBulbous floral vase.
