Inscriptions「ねんねが子もりはどこへいたあの山こへてしらなみやはてはあくたの水のあわ」。画中の屏風には「.裙模様奥津白浪<つまもやふおきつしらなみ> 絵入よみ本 鶴屋南北作 歌川国貞画 右此狂言の正本絵入ニ仕当秋よりうり出し候間もよりの本屋にて御求御一らん可下候 以上?」「十二童亀岳写」とあり。

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States.
