式三番叟 しきさんばそう
市村
年代記には「舞台開初より日数十日之間式三番叟を中村歌右衛門坂東しうか市村羽左衛門」とあり。
都立解説には「上演は九月だが、天保13年6月10日付で役者絵は禁止されるので、5月から6月頃に市村座の開場を予想して描いたものか。」とあり。

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
