いづれの時にやありけん 筑志の弓取加藤繁氏と云る人 故ありて所領を捨て 紀の国高野に登り 桑門なし 苅萱と号 其子石働丸ハ孝心深く 遙と八葉の峯を尋さまよひ 艱難辛苦のかひありて 親子再会を遂けるとぞ

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
