むかし矢矧の浄瑠璃姫 判官殿を恋い慕ふてここまで到り 疲れて終に死す 里人憐みて葬り 塚の即に松を六本植置たり 後 小野お通といへる風流の妓女 此姫の生涯の事を書つらね十二段とし薩摩といへる傀儡師に教て節を付 語せける 是浄るりの中祖也

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
