DescriptionThis large rectangular fragment executed in sunk relief depicts a winged falcon facing right with wings outstretched at a right angle. Beneath it is the cartouche of Mentuhotep III. On the right side are fragmentary vertical lists of offerings. Across the top of the block is a band of large-scale hieroglyphs reading from right to left with a fragmentary offering formula to Osiris. Petrie says it is part of a shrine containg lists of offerings and statue o the king. This soft brown sandstone fragment is very friable, cracked and unstable. Parts of it have a modern plaster backing.
