DescriptionWearing white frilled cap, blue and white striped lace collar, jeweled corsage, iron-red and turquoise bodice and ermine-lined puce cloak.
Marks Painter's mark of Zeschinger. The later gilt wood stand with crowned monogram of Catherine the Great in medal relief.
ProvenanceAbout 1758-59, probably Carl I, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (b. 1713 - d. 1780) (probably original commission) [see note 1].
