DescriptionPanel, possibly made from a cape. Four lengths of green velvet (each approximately 23" wide), brocaded with gold, sewn together along 5/8" selvages, ends and lower corners made of small pieces. Design consists of undulating stems bearing large leaves and conventionalized fruit and foliage forms, pomegranate/pinecones. Velvet woven in two heights of cut pile pile with small areas in uncut pile. Discontinuous metallic threads are gild silver wrapped around off-white silk core and are woven flush with the surface in most areas and in loops in other sections.
