DescriptionGround: Small diamond mesh worked with brown silk. Design: a basket of flowers on each side of bag worked in a variety of open-work stitches in colored silks (faded pinks, yellows, green and blues.) Decoration made separately from ground to which it is tacked. Loose wreath of small flowers tacked to upper edge of purse. Tassel of tarnished teal on bottom of bag. Examples of this lace made by Lady Powerscourt about 1820 in Victoria and Albert Museum (T 126 to B 1926).
