One of two related triptychs, formerly mounted together in an album and still partially attached: 11.37217a-c, 11.39067a-c. These may be the "two parts" referred to in the title of 11.37217a-c, although 11.39067a-c has a slightly different title. The triptychs show leading figures of the two sides in the Genpei wars of the 12th century, "played" by prominent actors. Rectangular cartouches give the names of both the warriors and the actors representing them, but many of the cartouches have been trimmed off or are too damaged to be fully legible.
