DescriptionFound in a chapel of the workmen's village at Amarna, this pottery bowl has a sinusoidal rim and a figure of a snake carved in the bottom. The snake is associated with the goddess Renenutet.
ProvenanceFrom Tell el-Amarna, chapel of workmen's village. Excavated by the Egypt Exploration Fund; by 1993: collection of the Toledo Museum of Art; 1993: purchased from Sotheby's, New York; 1997: given to the MFA by the Egypt Exploration Fund through Peter Lacovara.
