Description「十二 幼時不勤学 老後雖恨悔 尚無有取益 故讀書勿倦」 幼きときに勤め学ばざれば、老いて後恨み悔ゆと雖も。なお取益有るを無し。かかるが故に書を読んで倦むをなかれ。
「十三 学文勿怠時 除眠通夜涌 忍飢終日習」 学文怠る時なかれ。眠りを ... 飢えを忍びて終日習え。
「十四 雖會師不学 徒如向市人」 師に會すと雖も学せざれば、徒に市人に向かうが如し。
「十五 雖習讀不復 只如計隣財」 習い読むと雖も復せざれば、只隣の財を数えるが如し。

[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
