Description慶応1年3月、大坂、筑後芝居「本朝廿四孝（ほんちょうにじゅうしこう）」。五代大谷友右衛門が横蔵を演じているが、前名の友松の時代なので、改名以前の制作ということになる。場面は三段目にあたる「筍（たけのこ）掘り」の場。軍学者山本勘助（やまもとかんすけ）の長男横蔵は、母に雪中の筍を掘れと謎かけられた次男慈悲蔵（じひぞう）と争う。「見立いろはたとへ」と題されたシリーズの1図。 -- 武藤 純子K
