DescriptionA youth is stooping, placing his hands on his knees. Traces on the back show that a second youth, now lost, was seated on his shoulders. They were evidently participants in a ball game. Green patina. The base is modern. Some toes of the left foot are missing.
ProvenanceBy 1891: published by E. Petersen who saw the piece in Rome (said by the dealer to come from Southern Italy); by date unknown: with Edward Perry Warren; purchased by MFA from Edward Perry Warren, October 1896
