Description(Boston: Munroe and Francis, 1830) Octavo, four parts in one vol.; 103 [of 128] leaves; nineteenth-century half brown calf, marbled paper boards.

Numerous illustrations of animals, figures, natural history, and emblems for children's book. Based on the 1830 copyright, this is probably the first edition. The American Antiquarian Society owns a copy of the 1832 edition. Several blocks are signed "Anderson" [v. 3, p. 54; v. 4, pp. 25, 29, 53]; two are signed "A. Hartwell" [v. 4, pp. 33, 57]; and one is monogrammed "AB" [v. 4, p. 35, which is taken to be Bowen]. Other cuts are initialled H, B, and A.
