DescriptionRound-handled, slightly downturned handle has faint midrib on back, and a deep, rounded drop on oval bowl. Bird holding branch in beak is swaged on back of bowl.
Marks Both marked "R [pellet] H" in roman letters within an ellipse, on back of handle.
InscriptionsBoth engraved "S / I * A" in shaded roman letters on end of handle.
ProvenanceEarly history unknown; lent to the Museum on March 16, 1937, by Mrs. Alfred V. deForest; inherited by the donor about 1937 from her mother, Mrs. Alfred V. deForest; given to the Museum in 1991.
