DescriptionA hanging chair, composed of a bentwood slat shaped into a teardrop form, with two curved slats placed horizontally to form the back, to which are joined two additional curved slats forming the seat. The chair is suspended by an iron hook and chain at the top of the "teardrop."
Inscriptions"Walker Weed," burned into the bottom center of the main stave.
Provenance1973, purchased from the artist by Lois B. Torf, Weston, Massachusetts at the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen Annual Fair on August 7, 1973; installed at Torf's home in St. Croix; 2005, gift from Torf to the MFA (Accession date: September 21, 2005)
