This is one of the most extraordinary objects in the Oak Hill rooms. This table and its mate descended in the Derby family to the donor, Richard Edwards of Peru, Indiana. Rare in form and decoration, the tables have exceptionally fine carving on the legs and along the top edge and an inlayed, Greek-key motif and veneer on the top surface, epitomizing the highest level of Neoclassicism in Boston.
