DescriptionThe drawing is inscribed to S.N., Sara Norton, daughter of Charles Eliot Norton. In a letter to Norton of January 1873, Ruskin writes, "Sally's flower will not be long in coming. I have been dreadfully beaten in trying to do a rush blossom and must recover a little nerve after my defeat."
