DescriptionThe tall-case clock has a hood with an arched top holding a pierced fret and three plinths, each fitted with a brass eagle finial; the hood has free standing columns at front corners with brass capitals and bases, and with numerous round perforations at each side forming a diamond shape and with glazed hinged door. The white painted dial has Roman numerals for hour register and Arabic numerals for seconds with a date register. The spandrels are decorated in gold, red, green, and black, and the arched top has a moon phase register with a ship flying an American flag. The case has engaged quarter-columns flanking the long door, and is raised on a plinth base with short turned legs.
