DescriptionHigh chest in two cases; upper case has flat top above a cove-molded cornice containing a document drawers, and holds two small drawers in line above three wide graduated drawers; lower case with one wide drawer above three drawer in line, above a shaped skirt with two turned drops; four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet; drawers veneered and outlined with herringbone veneer; and fitted with original brasses, stamped "JG" on reverse.
InscriptionsBrasses, probably original, are stamped "JG" on reverse. There are small numbers in pencil near the brasses on the inside of the drawer fronts, probably modern and used as markers when brasses were removed for cleaning and replaced.
The proper right drawer in the lower case id numbered "I" on the back of the drawer back, and the proper left drawer is similarly numbered "II." There is no number on the middle drawer.
In the upper case, the drawers are numbered in the inside face of the drawer back as follows: two small drawers at top, "2" and "3"; second drawer from top, "I / 4"; third drawer from top, "II / 5"; and lowest drawer, "6"
