DescriptionSlant-front desk with serpentine front and four graduated drawers; base molding has center drop consisting of a carved fan. Stands on four claw-and-ball feet. Interior has large fan-carved drawer at center, above a small drawer and flanked by two tiers of small drawers above pigeonholes with valences. Brasses are replaced.
InscriptionsTwo paper labels glued to inside of front of top wide drawer read, espectively: "For / Robert Loring Coppins" and "J Batchelder / Bought 1878." Written in pencil in outside of side of shell-carved drawer in center of desk interior: "Bought / 1878."
