DescriptionFunerary cone inscribed for Merymose, Viceroy of Kush. Davies and Macadam type 170. Cones such as this, placed above the entrance to the mud-brick superstructure of the tomb, represented the ends of beams supporting the roof. The cones of Mery-mose are stamped with his name and title, as well as the name of the pharaoh under whom he served, in three vertical bands of raised hieroglyphs.
