Illustrations of scenes from Ovid's Metamporphoses: e.g., Pygmalion (p. 322), Venus and Adonis (p. 341) Later edition with plates supplied from various sources, primarily a series by the de Passe workshop (Crispin I, Magdalena, and other members) and a set later in the century by engravers such as Bouché and Bouttats. The translation is by Pierre Du Ryer (d. 1658). Many of these plates were reused in the Amsterdam (Wetstein & Smith) 1732 edition [MFA copies: 30.1035 & 37.2407a-b].
