NOTE: At the time of the Eckers' purchase, there was a rectangular void on the crest rail, suggesting that the chair once bore a plaque. Local historians advised that the chair might have come from one of the parliament buildings of Barbados, where a plaque would have included the name of a representative or marked a commemoration of some sort.
