Engraved architectural title page; 27 engraved plates of fortresses, towns, churches, castles, and houses.

First German edition; the same publisher issued a French edition in the same year. The actual publisher was the widow and two sons of Theodor de Bry, who had died in 1598. The first edition was Paris 1601; its plates have been ascribed to Thomas de Leu.
