DescriptionMoulded base with acanthus border, acanthus also on bowl and stem. Inside is lightly parcel gilt.

Fully marked on rim of cup and bottom of foot including the decharge for "exempted plate" (no tax). Bimbenet-Privat records ten examples of Davault's work, the majority of which, mostly chalices or ciboriums, are found in the province of Quebec, Canada.
