DescriptionTall cylindrical, acid-etched vessel with jagged lip, spray-painted body in mottled hot orange with highlights of green, yellow, and white. Vase is encircled with wire and green barbed wire. Stenciled shapes (circles and triangles) acted as resists, leaving areas without spray paint, revealing transluscent glass. Other shapes (letters, triangles, circles, and stars) of about 1/8 inch thick and about 1 inch tall or smaller made of ply-wood or plastic are adhered to surface. Resist letters spell out THIS IS AN ELEGANT VASE around the body of the vase. Adhered letters spell out ELEGANT, GOOD, and A OK. Most shapes and letters are outlined in graphite. A wire spray painted orange encircles the body of the vase in a vertical spiral. The area where the wire was initially placed has left a resisted area of glass from the paint. Wire is tied to green barbed wire, twisted in three places (top, middle, and bottom).
