DescriptionPair of shirt studs with spiral backs, one with a wire sculpture of a fly, the other with two small wire coils. Spirals are made of hammered, flattened wire; the fly and the small wire coils are round wire. According to the donor (the original owner), the work represented a fly and fly specks.
ProvenanceCommissioned in 1936 by Mr. John Coolidge (donor) from the artist, and said to be copies of a set made for Henry Russell-Hitchcock.
