DescriptionThis canteen is a small, round bodied bottle with narrow mouth and two applied handles. The bottle is painted with red and brown slip over a shiny, burnished white ground. The symmetrical designs of two masked figures is on one face only and the bakc is flat. The form is known as a Pilgrim flask form, with its two loop handles and bottle neck. Black and red decoration on belly, confronted thunderbirds, on white ground. This piece has been burnished, as indicated by its smooth, almost shiny surface.
