Two of about thirty surviving spoons (see cat. no. 100) known by Parker (some of which also bear the mark of Stephen Emery), these examples were probably owned by a family whose last name started with the letter B. Parker also made a caster engraved “LB,” but the family name is unknown.

DescriptionThe spoon has an upturned handle tip with short midrib and rectangular stem, ending in an elliptical bowl. The back of the bowl has a broad drop with worn webbed-shell decoration.
Marks
"D [pellet] Parker" in roman letters within a rectangle is stamped on the back of stem.
InscriptionsOn back of handle tip is engraved "I * B / to / L * B."
