DescriptionAdded domed cover with acorn finial probably by Lewis Cary, ca. 1824.

Straight sided bowl with everted rim; baluster stem & splayed moulded foot.
Marks "I E" crowned, partly obliterated by mantling of arms.
InscriptionsIn mantling of scrolls & bell-flowers: "A Gift To the Church in Lynde Street Boston. Added in similar mantling mantling in 1739 by Samuel Edwards, coat of arms of Hugh Hall.
ProvenanceMade for The west Church, founded in 1737. Records of the church show that the coat of arms of the donor, Hugh Hall, was engraved by Samuel Edwards; 1892, given by the church to the MFA.
