I give devise and bequeath unto my sister Faith Monkhouse widow of the late Doctor Richard Monkhouse of Wakefield in the County of York and Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, five hundred pounds sterling money of Great Britain.
I give devise and bequeath unto the seven following sons and daughters of my sister Faith Monkhouse.
1. Fidelia Save Thornton Monkhouse
2. Elisa Mary Thornton Monkhouse
3. Lucy Savage Sturgis Monkhouse
4. Richard Savage Thornton Monkhouse
5. Bird Thornton Savage Monkhouse
6. Ann Sophia Savage Monkhouse
7. Jane Eleanor Bird Monkhouse, five hundred pounds sterling money of Great Britain each to be paid to them respectively as they attain the age of twenty-one years.
Item. I give devise and bequeath to my natural son Arthur Savage by Jane Bowie, and born the 29th February 1804 one thousand pounds sterling money of Great Britain. Item. I give devise and bequeath unto my natural son Richard Savage by Jane Bowie aforesaid one thousand pounds sterling money of Great Britain. Item. I give devise and bequeath unto a mulatto Boy Thomas Savage the son of my negro woman Nanny one hundred pounds current money of Jamaica to be paid to him one year after my death- I will and direct that one hundred and fifty pounds sterling money of Great Britain be kept for the annual support and education of my said Two natural sons Arthur and Richard by Jane Bowie and that they be educated in England, the said allowance of one hundred and fifty pounds sterling in money annually to continue until they respectively attain the age of seventeen years. All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate both real and personal that I have or hereafter may possess I give devise and bequeath the same unto my said sister Faith Monkhouse and unto my said natural Sons Arthur Savage and Richard Savage in the following proportions- that is to say on third part thereof to my said sister Faith Monkhouse one third part thereof to my said natural son Arthur Savage and the remaining one third part thereof unto my said natural son Richard Savage and in case either the said Arthur Savage or Richard Savage die before me in that case I devise and bequeath whatever I have now bequeathed to the party so dying to the survivor of the two. I do hereby constitute and appoint my said sister Faith Monkhouse Executrix + John Still of the city of Kingston in the island of Jamaica Merchant Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all will or wills by me at any time heretofore made and declaring this only to be my last will and Testament this---day of ----181-.
Signed sealed and delivered by the Testator in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have set and subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto.
It will be observed that the will is without the testators signature and also without those attesting witnesses- The will was proved by William Savage of the Parish of Kingston Esquire who swore that he was well acquainted with Arthur Savage and he was well acquainted with the character and manner of his handwriting etc-
