DescriptionPorringer with everted rim, curved sides, stepped and slightly domed bottom. Part of a geometric handle, of which the tip is broken off and ends smoothed, with comparatively thick soldering underneath. Trace of center point in bowl.
Marks
Marked with maker's initials in a trefoil at center point on bottom; also marked IBV in oval on top of handle for John Brevoort (1715-1775).
InscriptionsEngraved IL/B in block letters under handle.
ProvenanceEarly history unknown, bequeathed to the Museum in 1908.
