DescriptionFour men and two women figures in the wood cleaning after a hunt. A town and a river are depicted in the background. The border is composed of a recurrent floral motif. Standing hunter with rifle and arm around peasant woman holding rabbit between two hunters on horseback to left, two men and woman under improvised shelter gathering rabbits and birds from hunt to right; landscape with large trees, flowers, river and town in background; arms at center top. Border: repeating floral motif. Colors: blue, gold, green, oyster. Wool warp, wool and silk weft. Condition: one cut repaired with some loss.

[1] This tapestry was accessioned in 1942 but remained on annual loan in Mr. Fearing's possession until 1948, and did not enter the Museum until after his death in 1956.
