DescriptionSeated Bes-figure made of pottery. He is wearing a characteristic tall plumed headdress. It is broken off below the knees. The proper left hand is placed on the hip, with right hand broken off but originally raised overhead. The back of the piece is smooth except for indentations delineating the spine and buttocks. There is a suspension loop on the back of the neck.
ProvenanceFrom Ihnasya el-Medina (Herakleoplis Magna). 1903-1904: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the EEF by the Egyptian government; 1905: presented to the MFA by the EEF.
