Over the last four decades, Agnes Martin has created spare, meditative works which express a personal and spiritual vision through formal abstraction. Untitled #15 is painted in Martin's characteristically pale, delicate tones, overlaid with repetitive pencil lines. The slight irregularities introduced by her hand create a surface that seems to vibrate, exhibiting a powerful human quality which contrasts with the seemingly mechanized process often associated with Minimalism.
