DescriptionThis sheet contains two images from a series representing the times of day. The sheet bears the scenes representing evening and night, which were engraved on the same plate but were clearly intended to be cut and used separately after printing. Morning and middaywere issued on a separate plate (Schuster 126).

[1] Henry F. Sewall offered his collection to the MFA for purchase in 1888. That purchase was finalized and executed in 1897, one year after his death.
