[1] M. Knoedler and Co. records, Getty Provenance Index, PI Record no. K-4142 (stock book 4, no. 7658, p. 192), as William Beechey, "Two Children in a Landscape." [2] In 1923 David P. Kimball bequeathed forty paintings to the MFA in memory of his wife, Clara Bertram Kimball. He noted in his will that these were "from the collection made by her and bequeathed to me."
