DescriptionAlabaster head of beared man. Carved plaster hair. Inlaid limestone eyes with inlaid obsidian pupils; one pupil inlay missing. Inlay hole below lips and above the chin.
Provenance1960s, said to have been inherited from his father by Iraj Kashanian (dealer), Forest Hills, NY [see note]; about 2001, sold by Kashanian to Safani Gallery, New York; 2001, sold by Safani Gallery to the MFA. (Accession Date: June 27, 2001)
