DescriptionThe brooch has the appearance of ancient land forms or skeletons having erupted from the earth. It is an abstract composition of 18k gold and notable for irregular sections arranged into a lozenge-shaped brooch. Smaller, rectangular crystal-like pieces of gold are located between the larger junctures.
Marks
Incuse mark "JPM" in entwined monogram, and "18k" also incuse, both on gold disk affixed to back of brooch.
ProvenanceGiven by the artist to his close friend, Mary Miller; upon her death, the brooch reverted to the artist, who makes it a gift.
