DescriptionAltar frontal of silk slit tapestry (kesi) with design of a Qilin, a mythological beast associated with prosperity and serenity, with waves, mountains, clouds and sun; valance above has two cranes facing circular bue stylized Chinese character for "long-life" (shou); border has design of repeating floral motif in polychrome silk; band along the top and backing of natural plain-weave linen or cotton.
