DescriptionPlain hemispherical shape on a spreading molded foot. Molded rim, with engraved inscription around top. The front of the bowl is engraved with a coat of arms, helm, crest, and motto, all inside a scribed circle.

Marks Struck under base with hallmarks (lion's head erased, Britannia, date letter for 1719-20) and with maker's mark of John East (Grimwade 525).
InscriptionsInscription along rim on side "Donum Lanae Coactorum in Oppido Mancestriensi et Vicinia adjacenti Jeremiae & Ellin Bower Anno Domini 1719. Vivat Rex . ffloreat Artificium."

[Translation: The gift of the felt makers in the town of Manchester and vicinity. Jeremy and Ellin Bower. Year of the Lord 1719. Long live the King. May the craft flourish"]
