DescriptionBack of the deep bowl is fluted. The shaped stem is engraved with ruled compartments and applied at the end with an asymmetrical rococo ornament and scroll cartouche engraved with the Seymour crest and earl's coronet.
Marks
Struck on stem with hallmarks (leopard's head, lion passant, date letter for 1742-3) and with maker's mark of Paul Crespin.
InscriptionsThe crest and coronet are those borne by Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset (1662-1748).
